EEDN have been appointed as Project Managers by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) for the extension and refurbishment of the High Resolution Powder Diffractometer, HRPD, one of the highest resolution neutron powder diffractometers of its type in the world.

We are excited to announce that we will be leading the delivery of this project for STFC by bringing together our Project Management and Design Management expertise as well as our NEC delivery mechanism.

The project will see the design and construction of a building suitable to house the HRPD (High Resolutions Powder Diffractometer) instrument on the ISIS neutron source to replace the outdated brick building, its inadequate radiation shielding and lack of internal space. The new building will aim to provide ample space for the new instruments, better staff facilities and allow for future adaptability should new instruments or experiments need to be accommodated.

This is the first project of EEDN with Harwell and STFC.

"We are thrilled to be a part of such an important project for the STFC and the wider scientific community. The EEDN team will leverage our deep scientific understanding together with our project management and design management expertise to deliver a project that will push the science and research boundaries to provide the capability to the scientific community" Tes Adamou, CEO of EEDN said:
